Jonquil Elise Dreadful, Stylist

Jonquil has been specializing in artisanal hair architecture since 2005.

Architecture includes elements of hair building like hair extensions and dreadlocks. She uses a pinchbraid attachment method for all hair extensions synthetic, natural, locked, and brushable.

Prior to her developed specialty, Jonquil had been a licensed cosmetologist since 1993. She earned her original cosmetology license in Michigan at Huron Valley Beauty Academy in Ann Arbor, MI. and keeps that current just for the heck of it. In addition to her Washington cosmetology license she holds a Canadian cosmetology license for the province of British Columbia, as well as a Washington state Instructor of Cosmetology license.

Her in depth study of hair architecture and collage art hair development includes official education through Hairpolice Minneapolis 2005, Doctored locks Spokane 2006 and Dollylocks St. Pete 2007.

“I call it collage art hair because the resulting enigmatic textures and shapes occur due to calibrated time and materials combined with mindfully nuanced layering.” This wearable art piece is a collaboration between Jonquil and her client and can include a sumptuous bevy of varied hair and fiber textures and colors as well as vintage findings and even carefully attached Swarovski crystal beads.

She is also a highly skilled in the areas of hair shaping and texturizing. Pixie cuts, shags, asymmetrical, barbering, fades, blunts, long layers, bangs...she’s deft with ringlets and coils as well as puny, fine, and flat hair.

Jonquil has a keen eye for color and though she’s respectful of chemicals and will never push your hair beyond it’s ability to recover health, she isn’t afraid to make your hair as white as a lily, pale arctic ice, or Gandalf gray if thats what you’re going for. Being active in the industry for 25 years will earn you some chops for lifting & toning as well as tinting with predictability and accuracy. She loves offering foil highlights, retouches, free form application for natural looking ombre’s, as well as all overs and combos of color services.

Her website www.fiercelocks.com has more info to offer as well.
